Vinod, a pioneer, and an early entrant into the Sustainability domain has 30+ years of experience in organization management, renewable energy implementation, project financing, financial re-engineering, mergers, and acquisitions, and expansions. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Malaviya Regional Engineering College (now MNIT), Jaipur.
He has rich experience in clean technology development using innovative business models and transaction advisory. He leads EVI’s advisory services including feasibility studies, policy analysis, and other research-based services for government agencies and multilateral & bilateral funding organisations.He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Malaviya Regional Engineering College (now MNIT), Jaipur.
He is widely regarded as an expert in identifying barriers in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency, financing and structuring innovative financial instruments that overcome some of these barriers such as the promotion of green bonds for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Financing.
As Program Designer and Leader, he has developed and implemented a pilot program on solar mini-grids in two districts of Uttar Pradesh, India, Grid Interactive Solar Pumping Program for Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Limited, Karnataka, India, Solar Energy and Battery Storage for Health Care Centers in Nagaland under a World Bank funded Program to use solar energy and provide 100% energy access, and Indian Railway’s decarbonisation and Renewable Energy Deployment Program, to name a few of many assignments.
Vinod has played a key role in implementing and developing several first of its kind renewable energy projects e.g. wind-solar hybrid projects for Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Energy Storage System (ESS) projects for the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) and Rajasthan Electronics India Limited (REIL) under USAID PACE-D TA Program, and wind-solar hybrid park in India under PPP mode. He has the experience of evaluating and aggregating ground-mounted and rooftop solar projects, he played an instrumental role in rooftop solar PV demand aggregation of residential consumer segment under World Bank's SUPRABHA TA Program.
